our first trip to Vermont! it turns out Olive and i are excellent plane passengers. i got to sit by the window and enjoyed all the take-offs the best! we kept busy and snoozed when we needed to. driving in the car seat, however, is not Olive's favorite thing. 

we somehow made it to grammy Harriet's house in the ManVan and got up early to go to the Great Escape the next day. my trusty sidekicks, Emma and Maddie, showed me the ropes and we went on lots of fun rides. Olive would have been happy to stay at the water fountain all day. other highlights included swimming in the pool, Music in the Park with dad's buddies, and I got to drive a real-life backhoe loader with papa Rick's friend RickyB! 

we ended the week with auntie Lauren and uncle Mike's wedding where dad played the guitar and i got to be the ring-guy. we did more swimming, made Smores and saw a rainbow before we headed back to Tucson which ended up taking 18 long hours. but Olive and i were troopers again -- we took lots of naps and didn't even ask for any quarters when we got to Vegas. thanks to everyone for an exciting summer vacation!
