Arizona Inn

Papa Rick and Grammy Harriet got us a stay at the Arizona Inn for dad's 40th birthday weekend! a staycation in the center of Tucson.

we made our way through a sprawling labyrinth to the back patio of what Olive calls "our new home," which was super fancy and historic. it was built back in the 1930s and still has lots of old furniture.

we played hide and seek, unpacked, and headed to the pool...

we found my old water wings that i never used in the shed. Olive put them on and wouldn't take them off. instantly, she's a swimmer, all over the whole pool!

then Geppetto woke up and joined in the fun. he's smiling at us now!

we had ice cream sundaes by the pool, went back to #178, had a shower, a late dinner, and crashed.  the next morning we were up early, ready to start another day!

breakfast on the patio.  Dad was waiting for coffee..

we decided to go wander around and check out the other cottages. everything was connected, but private, with beautiful landscaping.

there was croquet and badminton and lots of fun activities.

then we ran into dad. Geege had woken up so they came to join us on our stroll.

water wings on, a little leftover pizza,

and "let's go!" she said, "back to the pool."

Gigi got cranky so mom took him for a stroller ride.

it was a cloudy day, but super hot, so it was still nice to be in the pool.

 happy birthday Dad!
