Mission Beach 2017

We hit the road at 6 am (okay, maybe it was closer to 8, but we had LOTS of stuff to pack!)

We parked the van and did not get in it again until we left to go back to Tucson. Luckily, we arrived just in time to catch the afternoon surf and sun. Olive kept saying, "This is amazing!"

And dolphins! (we had been worried about sharks)

We were just down the beach from Belmont Park, where we'd wander most evenings scrounging for food. We were too scared for most of the rides, but got a "little" ice cream.

 and blueberries for extra dessert.

and maybe some wine...

me and olive slept on the pull-out couch and GG snuggled with mom and dad. just a tad crowded, but we made do.

every morning, me and mom would grab our skateboard and skates and hit the path along the beach, get coffee, and go exploring. the days always started out really moody and cloudy like this:

then we'd fetch the others and head down to the beach.

"thanks, Olive, I can eat my own snacks."

We found this sweet sand castle and kept an eye on it throughout the week to see the changes with the tide. There was a guy working on it sometimes.

did I mention the boogie boarding?
